UX Consultant

Responsibilities:

  • Map legacy enterprise Windows application and update to Web browser based version
  • Determine which features are essential vs. which can be reimagined
  • Gain understanding of useability and workflow optimization for efficient user experience
  • Meet with stakeholders in the field for observation at company headquarters and clinical offices
  • Analyze and address application information density (e.g. form & historical data, documents) to improve accessibility and functionality
  • Create logical navigation patterns appropriate for internal facing Web interactions
  • Incorporate brand consistent theme, color and functional layout characteristics
  • Build wireframes, product design templates & interactive prototypes, review and iterate with users
  • Document detailed specifications for development teams and collaborate on effective UI
  • Account for responsiveness, cross browser compatibility, and multiple devices (laptop, tablet etc.)
  • Test designs with users of the legacy system and validate that existing users can transition smoothly
  • Identify and resolve usability issues before go-live
  • Advocate for user needs when technical constraints arise
  • Transfer knowledge to internal teams for ongoing maintenance

Experience:

  • 7+ Years of experience in UI/UX Design & Consulting
  • Proficiency with UX/UI design and prototyping tools (Figma – Required)
  • Previous work transforming desktop applications to Web platforms
  • Strong understanding of responsive Web design principles and best practices
  • Ability to design and conduct effective usability analysis
  • Experience gathering requirements from existing users of complex systems
  • Knowledge of appropriate research methods for enterprise applications
  • Ability to produce high-fidelity interactive prototypes for testing
  • Skills in documenting design specifications for development teams
  • Background collaborating effectively with developers and technical teams
  • Understanding of Web application architecture and performance considerations
  • Ability to make appropriate design compromises based on technical constraints
  • Demonstrated experience designing for various browsers and devices
  • Prior background in health care, medical, clinical industry and EMR or PM (Highly Preferred)
