Systems Administrator

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and administer systems and software operating on Windows, Linux (Ubuntu), and QNAP environments;
  • Maintain and administer Nutanix server and Citrix desktop virtual infrastructure
  • Manage multiple domains and forests, including domain controllers, DNS, and Active Directory services;
  • Maintain Fileserver DFS/NTFS/Share Permissions for efficient file storage and access;
  • Maintain and validate the integrity of system backups using solutions such as Rubrix;
  • Provide technical support for collaboration platforms (i.e. Zoom, Jira, and Microsoft Teams) and financial applications (i.e. Sage, Doculink, and Biz Insight);
  • Maintain and administer endpoint management and software deployment solutions such as PDQ and NinjaOne;
  • Perform system maintenance and upgrades including patches, hot fixes and security configurations;
  • Work alongside security analysts to ensure security and identity management solutions (i.e. ADFS, Azure AD) are properly implemented to meet business requirements while balancing IT security risks;
  • Recommend security and performance enhancements (technological and procedural) to management and senior IT staff;
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity testing for IT systems and resources;
  • Provide escalation support to the general IT Help Desk for various system issues;
  • Improve current and, if missing, create new processes and procedures for troubleshooting and resolving common IT systems-related issues;
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest information technologies and industry trends to enhance network performance and security;
  • Travel to individual sites to perform site surveys, install new and configure new equipment;
  • Provide on-call and after-hours support as needed; and
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • 4 years)as an IT Systems Administrator with hands-on experience in Active Directory and endpoint management solutions;
  • Thorough knowledge of and hands-on experience with PDQ, 8×8, Nutanix, Office 365, Rubrik, Citrix and other relevant IT systems;
  • Thorough understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices;
  • Thorough knowledge of technical hardware, software and standards of networking to include router/switching technology (e.g. BGP/OSPF, Ports, Subnetting, Layer3 switching, etc.) to also include LAN, WLAN, WAN, WWAN technologies and standards;
  • Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Fortinet NSE, Microsoft, and VMware are advantageous;
  • Experience with financial and healthcare-related applications is a plus;
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytic tools. (e.g PingPlotter, WireShark, etc.) is a plus;
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex network issues;
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills;
  • Strong writing skills for creating IT-related compliance documents;
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team; and
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field;
