Responsibilities:
- Models scientific and medical research in fields such as biology, chemistry, physics, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and synthetic biology
- Guides and supports educators in integrating nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and synthetic biology principles into K-12 curriculums effectively
- Provides tailored professional learning opportunities to district educators and empowers them to confidently implement advanced scientific concepts in their classrooms.
- Collaborates closely with supervisors and educators to develop comprehensive, engaging instructional materials and activities tailored to diverse learning styles
- Assists districts in scaling nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and synthetic biology initiatives across their educational programs, ensuring equitable access and impactful implementation
- Stays abreast of the latest nanotechnology, AI, and synthetic biology developments to ensure curriculum alignment with cutting-edge advancements
- Provides continuous support and mentorship to district educators and offers personalized guidance and troubleshooting assistance as they navigate implementing complex scientific concepts in their classrooms
- Performs other duties as assigned
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a research or educational setting
- Master’s degree or higher in Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or a closely related field
- Relevant coursework in Nanotechnology, AI, Synthetic Biology, molecular biology, and cell culture
- Deep understanding of educational systems, legal issues, policies, research and trends in Career Readiness
- A valid Michigan Teacher and/or vocational endorsement is preferred
