Responsibilities
- Ensure the new platform design supports the department’s regulatory and compliance mandates, operational needs, and future-state goals.
- Collaborate with compliance officers, legal teams, IT, and industry representatives to capture current and future business needs and translate them into architectural requirements.
- Map out existing and target-state capabilities (e.g., licensing, auditing, enforcement) and identify gaps or areas for improvement as part of the system rewrite initiative.
- Interpret and embed federal and state compliance regulations into business processes and workflows, ensuring the platform supports timely and accurate enforcement.
- Work with data architects to define key data domains, lineage, and quality requirements that ensure trustworthy regulatory reporting and decision-making.
- Create and validate process models that reflect how regulatory reviews, investigations, and approvals will operate post-rewrite, streamlining and standardizing operations where possible.
- Guide organizational readiness through clear communication, training recommendations, and transition plans to support adoption of the new platform by internal users and external licensees.
Experience:
- 5+ Years Experience as a Business Architect
- Experience in Insurance and Financial Services vertical
- Extensive Banking/Insurance regulatory and compliance knowledge
- Background writing and analyzing business requirements, generating project specifications, converting specifications into code, and applying knowledge of computer programming techniques and computer languages.
- Experience developing technical designs in consultation with other technical experts.
- Communicate (in writing and verbally) clearly and effectively with end-users, senior business managers and other team members
- Bachelor’s degree
- State Government Insurance & Financial Services Experience (Preferred)
